DESTINATION-ALUVA

Aluva is a municipality and a northern suburb of the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. Aluva is the second biggest town in ernakulam district after kochi city. Situated around 15 km from the city center on the banks of river Periyar, Aluva is one of the major industrial centres of the state.

ALUVA MAHADEVA TEMPLE

The most important festival of Aluva temple is the Maha Shivarathry in Kumbham (February-March). There is no other place in Kerala where Shivarathry is celebrated on such a grand scale as in Aluva. The Shivarathry festival is a colourful celebration and devotees stay away the whole night in prayer and pay homage to their ancestors. The sand bank is extensive and the pilgrims running into several thousands congregate here. On the night of Shivarathry pilgrims keep awake and recite the puranas.

ATHIRAPPALLY WATERFALLS

Athirapilly Falls is situated in Athirapilly Panchayat in Chalakudy Taluk of Thrissur District in Kerala, India on the Chalakudy River, which originates from the upper reaches of the Western Ghats at the entrance to the Sholayar ranges. It is the largest waterfall in Kerala, which stands tall at 81.5 feet.
